Today is the Tesla AI Day, here’s what to expect

Today is Tesla AI Day, the company’s big recruitment day, with the announcement of the great direction the company is taking. In April of 2019, for the first time ever, Tesla had it’s Autonomy Day event at its head quarters in Palo Alto, California. CEO Elon Musk laid out a vision of a future with robo-taxis that would be lucrative for both Tesla and its customers. The company has since raised more than $2 billion from Wall Street.

In September of 2020, the company held Battery Day, this was the time the company announced its focus to build its own battery cells. Now, today, the company will have its AI Day, for artificial intelligence.

This even will serve a dual purpose, one, to help Tesla recruit some of the brightest minds and second, to keep investors bullish on the company’s future. The even will feature a keynote by billionaire Elon Musk, software and hardware demos from engineers and test rides in Model S Plaid and much more.

The event will begin at 5 P.M. California time and will be live streamed. The livestream will reveal some of the work spanning autonomous driving, supercomputing, chip design and beyond.

We expect Tesla to discuss AI applications beyond autonomous driving, including for solar/storage software and advanced manufacturing in its factories, Tesla’s energy software leverages machine learning, forecasting, optimization and real-time control algorithms to reduce utility bills, increase renewable energy consumption, improve efficiency/uptime and enable microgrid.
